Polygon got hands-on time at BlizzCon 2026, and the early verdict is that this port punches above its weight.

Mouse Controls Are the Real Story

Here's the detail that matters most if you're a PC Diablo veteran skeptical of playing on a hybrid console: Switch 2's Joy-Con 2 controllers support genuine mouse-style controls, and Blizzard has confirmed Diablo 4 will support them at launch. You set the flat edge of a Joy-Con down on a table or your lap, and it tracks like an actual mouse — the same tech already used in Fortnite, Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, and Civilization 7.

That's a big deal for a franchise whose click-to-move, click-to-attack combat was basically designed around a mouse in the first place.
